TODD BALLARD

Todd Ballard blends a rich background in active youth culture sales and marketing with a cross-cultural platform of brand building. In 1993, Ballard founded an action sports mail order catalog that in a short two years became one of the most prominent mail order businesses in the action sports. After selling the company, he moved on to Director of Marketing and Advertising for Osiris Shoes, one of the top skateboard-based footwear companies of it’s time, bringing the brand from 2 million to over 20 million in sales within two years.

In early 2000, Ballard created Modifiers, a unique brand of miniature cars based on the emerging import compact car tuner culture. The combination of over one hundred automotive manufacturer and aftermarket parts brand licenses with cutting edge PR and marketing campaigns enabled the brand to attract big box retailers such as Wal-Mart and Toys R while triggering licenses of the Modifiers brand for school gear, stickers, and clothing. A short 6 months after the initial launch, Modifiers was named by USA Today as one of the top toy selections for the 2002 holiday season.

After the acquisition of Modifiers by X Concepts Manufacturing, Ballard founded NXTagency to assist automotive and powersports brands in targeting the active youth culture demographic. During its first four years, Ballard and NXTagency have worked with numerous corporate brands on a variety of initiatives including event marketing activation, lifestyle branding, creative consulting sponsorship and Public Relations. Ballard brings years of experience in a multitude of disciplines that center around brand building, marketing and sales focusing on action sports, Motorsports and the active youth culture.
